8/29: Music DAY
Today is the LAST day of Austin & Ally Appreciation Week! Can you believe it? We've had such a great week full of appreciating the show and now today we finally end with MUSIC Day! Music is a BIG part of Austin & Ally! The started off with Ally writing and Austin rocking but now, they both rock and even Austin writes a little. Plus, their two friends Trish and Dez have even joined in on the fun and the show has just been a fun music filled ride! Let's go through the music of each season!
MUSIC THROUGH THE YEARS
Season 1 The music of season 1 was very pop and fun! In season 1, Austin sung all of the songs and Ally wrote all of them. The first song of the series, "Double Take," was the song that Austin and Dez took from Ally, made a music video of, and went viral, the song that made Austin famous! After combining forces, Austin and Ally continued to write hits like "Break Down the Walls," "Not a Love Song," and "Heart Beat." Mostly each song in season one had a meaning behind it and there were a lot of episodes that had plots that were the reason why the song was written. We also saw that performances were going to be a big part of the show as Austin is always laying down awesome moves whenever he performs. Dez directed awesome music videos this season like the music videos for "Better Together" and "Double Take." In season 1, we often saw Austin and Ally writing songs together, working together to create magic! Lastly, this song brought about the first actual music video in the series for the summer hit, "Heard It On the Radio" which went on to win a Radio Disney Music Award in 2013! |
Season 2 The music of season 2 definitely takes a step up from season 1 and gets an even more mature sound. With season 1 ending off with a song totally different than anything Austin & Ally had ever done, "Illusion," season 2 definitely was sure to bring on stronger vibes in the music. The first song of the season was "Don't Look Down," a duet between Austin and Ally! The season went on to feature more hits including Can You Feel It, "Steal Your Heart," Who I Am, "Better Than This," "I Got That Rock And Roll," and the first Christmas song "Christmas Soul," which was performed in the Austin & Ally and Jessie crossover. The crossover also featured a duet between Austin and Jessie called "Face to Face." With Austin and Ally realizing their feelings for each other this season, we also get some songs about their relationship including their duet, "You Can Come To Me," and Austin's song "I Think About You." Also in season 2, Ally finally begins to release her own original music! After getting over her stage fright, she sung her first song, "Finally Me," and in the season finale, "The Me That You Don't See." Lastly, starting this season, the performances were definitely uped. By the season finale, Austin was singing and dancing with umbrellas on a stage as water poured above him. From there, we knew something big was starting. |
Season 3 Season 3 started off with Austin on tour singing "Chasin' the Beat of My Heart," a popular song that brings Austin & Ally straight to a radio hit pop sound and abandons the expected Disney sound that most Disney shows have in their music. Season 3 introduced various sounds to the series. For starters, as implied earlier, the music this season is a lot more mature. The series also introduces an acoustic sound with the song "Stuck On You." Acoustic versions of songs were done in previous seasons but never for the original version of a song. Team Austin & Ally even performed an acapella mash up of a bunch of famous Austin & Ally songs this season! Ally also sings various songs this season including "Me and You," "Parachute," and "Redial" and really grows as an artist. Hit Austin songs from the season include "Upside Down," "What We're About," and "Superhero." Early this season, Austin and Ally also sung a Christmas duet together, "I Love Christmas," which has become very popular and well known. The performances of season 3 are also very notable, as they continued to take more risks and be more creative as seen with performances like Austin's solo "Don't Look Down" performance and his performance of "Upside Down." |
Season 4 By season 4, Austin & Ally definitely had established itself as a show with fantastic music and more was only expected when this season premiered. The first song of the season was Ally's popular song, "No Place Like Home," a song experimenting with different instrumental sounds, not only showing showing the show's music exploration but also Ally's growth as a character. Ally goes on to sing other songs including "Play My Song" and "Dance Like Nobody's Watching" (which had an amazing performance). When we said the show was exploring with music sounds, we weren't kidding. Austin's comeback song this season, "Take It From the Top," features a very reggae backtrack, totally different from what the show has had before. The music this season has been incredible and there is more to come! We can't wait to see what the show has in store because we KNOW it'll be fantastic! |
